Universal Pictures has released the very first footage from the upcoming "Mummy" reboot starring Tom Cruise.
While viewers will have to wait this Sunday for the first official trailer, this 15-second tease provides a really quick glimpse at Cruise doing what he does best: running for dear life! But in this case, he's running away from a dust storm that was conjured up by a newly awakened and really pissed off mummy princess. Yikes!
Directed by "Star Trek" reboot screenwriter-turned-helmer Alex Kurtzman (People Like Us), "The Mummy" also stars Russell Crowe, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, and Courtney B. Vance. The film is slated for a June 9, 2017 release.
