A sleight-of-hand street magician has to pull off the biggest trick of his life in order to save his kid sister from local drug dealers. That's the basic gist of the upcoming indie thriller "Sleight," for which a teaser trailer has been released.

Marking the feature film debut of music video director J.D. Dillard, "Sleight" stars singer/actor Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner, Black Nativity) as a young David Blaine-in-training who gets more than he bargained for when he decides to work for a dangerous drug dealer, just to make enough money to support his younger sister and new girlfriend.

Written by Dillard and his producing partner Alex Theurer, "Sleight" was acquired by WWE Studios and Blumhouse Productions shortly after premiering in January at Sundance, where it received mostly good notices. The film is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on April 28, 2017.

A young street magician (Jacob Latimore) is left to care for his little sister after their parents' passing and turns to illegal activities to keep a roof over their heads. When he gets in too deep, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to use his magic and brilliant mind to save her.
