Here's a new international trailer for "La La Land," the much-buzzed-about musical from "Whiplash" director Damien Chazelle, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as two Angelenos who fall in love under unusual circumstances.

A tip of the hat to classic Hollywood romantic musicals, the film takes place in a contemporary Los Angeles. Gosling plays a struggling jazz pianist. Stone is an inspiring actress who has just moved to Hollywood in the hopes of breaking into the biz. The two lovebirds meet, walk, dance, possibly sing together, and ultimately fall madly in love with each other. However, their relationship takes a significant hit when they find themselves drifting apart due to career choices.

"La La Land" co-stars J.K. Simmons, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Grammy-winning singer John Legend, who also wrote an original song for the movie.

The film is due to open in select theaters December 9, expanding to additional cities on December 16.

Written and directed by Academy Award-nominee Damien Chazelle, LA LA LAND tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
