Katie Holmes is once again portraying Jackie Kennedy in REELZ's new miniseries "The Kennedys: After Camelot," which is a follow-up to the 2011 miniseries "The Kennedys."
Based on the book by best-selling biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli, the four-part drama will span over several decades, beginning with the years directly after President John F Kennedy's assassination and then delving into Jackie's courtship and marriage to Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis (played by "Game of Thrones" actor Alexander Siddig).
The miniseries will also chronicle the 1969 Chappaquiddick scandal, in which senator Ted Kennedy (played by former "Friends" star Matthew Perry) was guilty of leaving the scene of a car accident, which resulted in the infamous drowning death of campaign worker Mary Jo Kopechne.
The drama will also explore Jackie's relationship with her son, John F. Kennedy Jr. (played by Brett Donahue), who was forced to grow up in the national spotlight during the midst of family tragedies and political scandal.
Emmy-winning director/producer Jon Cassar, of "24" fame, is directing three of the four episodes. While Katie Holmes, herself, is handling directing duties for one episode. She is also serving as an executive producer.
"The Kennedys: After Camelot," which also stars Kristen Hager and Diana Hardcastle, will premiere on the REELZ channel sometime in 2017. In the meantime, check out the drama's first trailer, above.
