Before Paramount's big event in Tokyo this weekend where they will unveil the first official trailer for their highly anticipated sci-fi live-action movie "Ghost in the Shell," the studio has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette, showcasing Scarlett Johansson as the futuristic cyborg operative whose job is to hunt down the world's most dangerous criminals.

Visiting the set is legendary Japanese filmmaker Mamoru Oshii, who seems to be giving his approval on the casting of Johansson as the female cyborg called "Major," a character that was originally featured in Oshii's 1995 anime movie on which the upcoming live-action film is partly based.

Directed by Rupert Sanders ("Snow White and the Huntsman") and based on Masamune Shirow's classic manga series, the film will also star Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Rila Fukushima, and Michael Wincott. "Ghost in the Shell" is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on March 31, 2017.

synopsis:
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, "GHOST IN THE SHELL" follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9.
