Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the new eight-part documentary series "Captive," which tells eight harrowing stories of eight different tense situations that involve ordinary people being kidnapped and held hostage for a period of time.

The series is being produced by Doug Liman, the director of "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." It's also produced by award-winning documentary producers and cousins Simon Chinn (Searching for Sugar Man, Man on Wire) and Jonathan Chinn (American High, Atari: Game Over).

"Captive" will start streaming on December 9 only on Netflix.
