In the latest trailer for the upcoming drama "Collateral Beauty," Will Smith plays an emotionally troubled New York ad executive who, while grieving the tragic loss of his daughter, starts to believe he's actually seeing people claiming to represent life's emotions. Is he crazy? Or does he have the most sympathetic friends in the world?

Directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me) and written by Allan Loeb (The Space Between Us), the film also stars Kate Winslet, Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Michael Pena, Naomie Harris, and Helen Mirren.

"Collateral Beauty" will be hitting theaters December 16.

When a successful New York advertising executive suffers a great tragedy he retreats from life. While his concerned friends try desperately to reconnect with him, he seeks answers from the universe by writing letters to Love, Time and Death. But it's not until his notes bring unexpected personal responses that he begins to understand how these constants interlock in a life fully lived, and how even the deepest loss can reveal moments of meaning and beauty.
