Jude Law lays down the law in a brand-new teaser trailer for the new HBO limited series "The Young Pope."

Created and directed by Oscar-winning Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty, Youth), the ten-episode drama tells the fictional story of Lenny Belardo (Law), an ultra-conservative, yet deeply flawed Cardinal, who (in a sly manner) rose up through the ranks of the Catholic Church to become the first American and youngest Pope in history. Now he reveals himself to be a power-hungry zealot who has abandoned the idea of automatic forgiveness.

Oscar-winner Diane Keaton co-stars as the young pope's closest confidante, Sister Mary, who used to run the orphanage where he was raised, and when he was merely a "fatherless and motherless boy."

James Cromwell, Ludivine Sagnier, Cecile De France, Scott Shepherd, and Silvio Orlando also star in the new series, which is set to air in the States on HBO starting Sunday, January 15, 2017.

(Note: the drama is currently airing in the UK on the Sky Network.)
